David Hanson MP, Labour’s Shadow Immigration Minister said:

“The Tories are going completely soft on crime. The European Arrest Warrant helps us deport over 1,000 foreign suspects every year who may have fled here from crimes they committed abroad. It helps catch paedophiles, stop people trafficking, catch criminal Mr Bigs, and crack down on terrorists. It’s about working with our European partners to speed up justice for victims.

“The Tories are putting their ideological obsession with Europe above tackling crime. Reform is needed, but ditching the EAW will simply allow criminals to get off.”
