Labour will enshrine the Military Covenant in the NHS Constitution - Doyle

Labour’s Shadow Minister for Veterans, Gemma Doyle MP, responding to reports that medical experts who treat injured soldiers have said the Government is not meeting its obligations to veterans, said:

“This is a damning indictment of a government that has failed to meet its obligations to our Armed Forces and veterans.

"As combat operations in Afghanistan come to an end, we must not forget those who served there and elsewhere and need long term support to deal with physical and psychological injuries.

"Labour has pledged to enshrine the principles of the Military Covenant in the NHS Constitution to ensure that serving personnel and veterans receive the best possible care and are treated with the respect their bravery deserves.”
