Rachel Reeves MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, responding to Nick Clegg’s comments on benefit curbs for immigrants said:

“You can’t trust a word the Lib Dems say. If Nick Clegg were really serious he would support Labour’s plan to make fairness and contribution central to Britain’s welfare system. Labour would stop child benefit being sent abroad, restrict out of work benefits for EU migrants for two years, and ensure that there are fair rules in place for in-work benefits for those coming from outside the UK.”
