Andy Burnham MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary, commenting on reports that 15 minute care home visits are increasing said:

“How much longer will we say that people who are so frail that they need help with getting up, washing and eating, and who suffer from loneliness and isolation, are only worth a slap-dash 15 minute visit?

“Under David Cameron, £3.5 billion has been taken from council social care budgets - hundreds of thousands have lost support entirely while others have seen theirs cut back.

“Labour is committed to bringing social care and the NHS together and five thousand more care workers to end the scandal that is care of older and vulnerable people in England.”
