Michael Dugher MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, commenting on the recent overcrowding and chaos at London stations said:
“Hard-working commuters getting into London have been badly let down by the Government. Not only have they been forced to dip even further into their pockets to buy their season tickets which have increased by over 20 per cent since 2010, but now they are left in dreadful conditions at mainline stations such as London Bridge.
“Out-of-touch ministers talk about ‘comfortable commuting’, but this is a world away from the scenes at London Bridge and other major stations including Waterloo this morning. Network Rail and the Operators need to get their act together and Ministers need to get a grip and sort this mess out. Passengers have had enough.”
