Commenting on the release of the National Audit Office report into Major Projects at the Ministry of Defence, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Defence Procurement, Alison Seabeck MP, says:
“David Cameron’s Government has wasted millions on failed procurement reform, botched IT systems, and equipment U-turns. The public will need more assurances from Ministers that they have got a firm grip on finances at the MoD.
“As a result of a flawed Strategic Defence and Security Review in 2010, the Government has lurched from one crisis to the next, squandering taxpayers’ money whilst failing to provide our Armed Forces with the strategic direction they require. In contrast, the next Labour SDSR will be both strategically driven and fiscally responsible.”
