Disgraceful that passengers are being hounded through the courts for making honest mistakes - Lilian Greenwood
Lilian Greenwood MP, Labour’s Shadow Rail Minister, responding to the Government launching a new consultation on the rail penalty fare system, said:
“It’s disgraceful that on top of the soaring cost of travel, passengers are being hounded through the courts for making honest mistakes.
“Reform is needed now, but once again David Cameron’s Government has put off a decision until after the election. Only Labour would stand up for passengers by simplifying fare structures and giving all travellers a legal right to the cheapest ticket.”
