Clive Efford MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Sport, commenting on the Premier League’s announcement of a record £5.1 billion TV rights deal, said:
“Labour has consistently demanded that not all of this money should stay at the top of the game in the form of ever-more-inflated salaries for Premier League footballers and their agents.
“The grassroots of the game must benefit from this bonanza through a boost in participation and improved facilities.”
