Labour will "end the 15-minute visit culture" - Burnham
Commenting on press reports regarding “five minute” social care visits, Andy Burnham, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary said:
“How much longer will we say that people who are so frail that they need help with getting up, washing and eating, and who suffer from loneliness and isolation, are only worth a slap-dash visit?
"Under David Cameron, £3.5 billion has been taken from council social care budgets - hundreds of thousands fewer are getting support while others have seen theirs cut back.
"Labour is committed to bringing social care and the NHS together and recruiting five thousand more care workers to end the 15-minute visit culture.”
