Michael Dugher MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, commenting on today’s RAC report into fines for motorists parking on private land, said:
“David Cameron’s government was warned in 2012 that the clamping regulations on private land were not enough. The Tories’ plan is failing working families because their inaction has led to the situation where motorists have potentially been overcharged millions of pounds in fines.
“Labour has a better plan and will make sure that motorists are treated fairly and are able to have confidence that they will not be ripped off through astronomical and unfair fines. This Tory-led Government needs to get a grip and start standing up for motorists.”
