Maths and physics teaching - the Tory plan is failing young people - Tristram Hunt
TristramHunt MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to David Cameron’s government’s failure to meet its own targets for recruiting maths and physics teachers, said:
“The Tory government have failed their own targets for recruiting maths and physics teachers which has harmed standards.
“The best way to improve maths and physics teaching is with highly skilled and qualified teachers, but David Cameron has changed the rules to allow unqualified teachers in schools.
“This Tory plan is failing young people. Labour has a better plan to improve education for every child in every classroom. It starts with a qualified teacher in every classroom, with teachers continuing to train and improve as a condition of continuing teaching.”
