Care and Support Alliance survey of GPs  - response from Liz Kendall

Liz Kendall MP, Labour’s Shadow Care Minister, commenting on the Care and Support Alliance survey of GPs said:

“This Government has slashed social care, which is leaving many families struggling to cope and means more older people are reaching crisis point. The Care and Support Alliance has found that this is putting huge strain on GPs and A&Es, with many people struggling to get GP appointments or having to wait for long periods of time to be seen in hospital.

"Labour will join up local NHS and social care services, so that people get the support they need in their own home. This is better for them and the taxpayer, and will help to reduce the pressure on GPs and hospitals.”
