Jon Trickett MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister without Portfolio,responding to comments from Nigel Farage about the NHS, in which he said that “people should go private”, said:

“Nigel Farage has let the cat out of the bag. His vision for the NHS is a system where the few who can afford it pay to opt out. Meanwhile the rest of us are left behind in an increasingly privatised NHS, its very existence threatened by the extreme spending cuts UKIP supports.

“UKIP are more Tory than the Tories. They don’t believe in the NHS – it’s not safe in their hands.”
