Theresa May needs to come clean with the police and the public - Jack Dromey

Jack Dromey MP, Labour’s Shadow Policing Minister, commenting ahead of the Home Secretary’s speech at the Police Federation today, said:

“Already police officers are being taken off the street, 999 delays are up and there are year-long delays dealing with serious growing crimes like online child abuse.

“With over 10,000 more police officers likely to go in the next few years, senior officers are warning this will be the end of neighbourhood policing as we have known it. Already the public are complaining they no longer see their local bobbies as often as they once did. Theresa May needs to come clean with the police and the public today on future police numbers.”
