David Hanson MP, Labour’s Shadow Immigration Minister, responding to the agreement on further humanitarian support for Calais, said: 

“We will look at the details of this new agreement. But we have been calling for much greater cooperation to solve this problem for some time so would welcome any move in this direction. It is also positive if - at last - the government is acknowledging humanitarian support is needed to tackle this issue – as well as further fencing."
