Tristram Hunt MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to the Government announcement on childcare, said:

“As working parents struggle with soaring childcare costs and falling number of places available, David Cameron still cannot explain how his Government will plug the funding gaps in its childcare offer.

"The failure of the Tories to deliver on childcare just goes to show that they are not serious about putting working people first.”
