Luciana Berger MP, Labour’s Shadow Public Health Minister, commenting on figures showing an increase in the number of written complaints in the NHS, said:

“These figures are yet another sign of how the NHS is going backwards under David Cameron.

“It is no wonder record numbers of patients are writing formal complaints when operations are being cancelled, the waiting list is at a seven-year high, and A&E departments are in crisis.

“Instead of dismissing these figures, Ministers should be listening to patients who are unhappy about the care they have received, and make sure their concerns are addressed.”
