Gloria De Piero MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Young People and Voter Registration, commenting on the Lords vote on electoral registration today, said:

“The Government is rushing through changes to our electoral registration system against the advice of the independent Electoral Commission who have warned that this risks people falling off the electoral register.

“I hope the Government listens to the Electoral Commission and thinks again. It is vital that people are not deprived of their democratic voice.”
