When it comes to cancer, speed is everything and patients are being badly let down - Gwynne

Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Public Health Minister, responding to Cancer Research UK’s warnings on early diagnosis said:

“Early diagnosis of cancer is crucial to ensure people have swift access to treatment at a time when it is more likely to be successful.

“The huge progress made on cancer care by the last Labour government has, sadly, stalled in recent years.

"Under the Tories growing numbers of patients are waiting too long to get tested for cancer and the NHS has repeatedly missed the target for treatment too. When it comes to cancer, speed is everything and patients are being badly let down.”
