More than 40 years after Labour's Equal Pay Act, it's shameful that those women who fought for pay equality are still taking the hit - Kate Green
Kate Green MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, speaking on Equal Pay Day, said
“Women in their 40s and 50s are losing out most from unequal pay. More than 40 years after Labour’s Equal Pay Act, it’s shameful that those women who fought for pay equality are still taking the hit, effectively working for nothing as of today.
“This Government has introduced fees to bring equal pay claims to tribunals and their Trade Union Bill means women won’t be properly represented at work. It’s no good the Tories talking about equal pay when their polices stop women from getting fair treatment at work.”
