Sharon Hodgson MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Children and Families, responding to a report from the Children’s Commissioner in England, said:
“We must listen to the victims of child abuse without prejudice, whenever they come forward, and learn from their experiences to strengthen our child protection system and the support we provide to victims of abuse.
“This report should serve as a wake-up call to the Government; they must ensure that adequate support and resources are available for social workers, police officers and those tackling abuse and supporting victims.”
