We need a digital strategy to ensure we are competitive in the Digital Age and that everyone benefits from the digital revolution - Chi Onwurah

Chi Onwurah MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Digital Economy, said:

“After five years when their digital strategy amounted to little more than photo ops in Tech City and subsidies for BT the Government has finally responded to our repeated calls for a digital strategy which sets the direction for our increasingly digital lives. We welcome this U turn and will hold the Government to account on how it addresses its three biggest failings: investment in a competitive digital infrastructure; the yawning gap between the digital haves and have-nots and digital citizen rights. Labour believes we need a digital industrial strategy to ensure that we are both  competitive and secure in the Digital Age and that everyone benefits from the digital revolution.”
