Fragmented railways are failing passengers - Jonathan
Reynolds
Jonathan Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow Rail Minister, responding to the Campaign for Better Transport’s warning that the Government is failing to introduce part-time season tickets, said:
“Just days after we learned that the cost of commuting by
rail has risen by up to 38% under the Tories, it’s become clear that a key
manifesto commitment to introduce smartcard technology and flexible season
tickets is in tatters. Ministers’ posturing over recent days is an attempt to
distract from a programme in crisis, and it’s yet another example of how our
fragmented system is failing to deliver for passengers.”
