Justin Madders MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, commenting on the Commonwealth Fund’s GP survey, said:
“These figures are another stark reminder of the huge pressures facing general practice after five years of David Cameron’s government.
“The Tories have created a workforce crisis in general practice by training fewer GPs and sending morale plummeting to rock bottom. Rather than trying to get to grips with this situation, Ministers have been caught fiddling the figures and backtracking on their promise to recruit extra GPs.
“Jeremy Hunt needs to start being straight with the public about this situation and tell us what he intends to do to repair the damage he has done.”
