Not enough has been done to curtail the proliferation of Fixed Odds Betting Terminals - Maria Eagle

Maria Eagle MP, Labour’s Shadow Culture, Media and Sport Secretary, responding to MPs’ calls for the Government to take action over Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs), said:

“Clearly not enough has been done to curtail the proliferation of Fixed Odds Betting Terminals, which are a blight on many of our high streets.

“These machines damage the lives of many of the most vulnerable in our society, so the Government must look closely at its own approach and do much more to protect FOBT users.

“Public concern over FOBTs is growing. With mounting evidence that these are causing harm, we urgently need to see real action from Ministers.”
