Hilary Benn MP, Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary, commenting on the announcement of withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria, said:

“Yesterday’s announcement about the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria could help to support the ceasefire and de-escalate tension. But in order to do that, we need to see it being carried through so that progress can be made in the UN-led peace talks now taking place in Geneva.”
