Comment on research from the CBI showing that Brexit could cost UK economy £100 billion and 950,000 jobs by 2020

Angela Eagle MP, Labour’s Shadow First Secretary and Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, commenting on research from the CBI released today (Monday) showing that Brexit could cost UK economy £100 billion and 950,000 jobs by 2020, said:

“This research shows that a vote to leave the European Union is a vote for uncertainty which risks our future economic prosperity and well-paid, high-skilled jobs.

"A vote to remain a member of the largest single market in the world will help businesses and workers, and deliver more jobs, growth and investment. Only by continuing our membership can we work to protect and enhance workers’ rights and build a more social European Union.”
