Maria Eagle, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sports, responding to the doping investigation in the Sunday Times, said:
“These allegations are deeply shocking and it is right that an immediate inquiry takes place to establish whether the United Kingdom Anti-Doping Agency (Ukad) has done enough to root out doping in British sport.
"The reputation of our much-loved sports hangs in the balance. The public must have the full confidence that the competition we are seeing is genuine and that the Government is taking the lead in the fight against corruption in sport.”
