Commenting on the reception Nicky Morgan, Secretary of State for Education, received at the National Association of Head Teachers conference, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Education Lucy Powell MP said:‎

“As Nicky Morgan’s lacklustre performance at the National Association of Head Teachers conference shows, it’s clear that the Tory Government are increasingly isolated with no support from head teachers for their plans to force good and outstanding schools to become academies against their wishes. False claims of freedom and autonomy for heads who would have no choice in being forced to convert to become an academy were rightly met with derision.”
