Councils up and down the country, not just in Cameron's back yard, are having to make tough choices - Jonathan Ashworth
Jonathan Ashworth MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister without Portfolio, commenting on the news a Conservative council at the centre of a cuts row involving the prime minister has announced it will close more than half its children’s centres, said:
“Councils up and down the country, not just in David Cameron’s back yard, are having to make tough choices because of his Tory Government’s unfair spending cuts.
"If David Cameron was serious about protecting children’s centres and other vital services both in his constituency and elsewhere in the country he’d do more than simply write letters and complain.”
