Commenting on the publication of the Creative
Industries Federation’s survey of members on the UK’s membership of the
European Union, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and
Sport, Maria Eagle MP said:
“Britain’s continued
membership of the European Union is essential to our creative industries,
providing access to the world’s largest single market as well as essential
grants and funding.
“The creative industries have today made clear that our world-leading film,
television, music and art sectors are better off with the UK in EU, delivering
vital jobs, growth and investment.
“Walking away from the EU and putting up barriers between people would only
hinder the cross-border collaboration that make our creative industries as
successful as they are.”
