Jo Stevens MP, Shadow Prisons Minister, commenting on the delay in publishing Ian Acheson’s report on prison radicalisation, said:
"It is vital that Michael Gove ends the delay and that he publishes this report and its findings immediately.
“Nothing in the prison reforms included in the Queen’s Speech were focused on tackling the serious issues of radicalisation, overcrowding, understaffing or the rise in violence which plague our prisons. Our prisons are in crisis after six years of Tory failure and it is now time to bring forward the radical reform that our prison system so sorely needs.“
