Bill Esterson MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills, said,

“The Conservatives are presiding over an economy that encourages wealth extraction not wealth creation. The collapse of BHS is just the latest example.

"The Government must ensure that staff who have lost their jobs are supported to find alternative work as soon as possible, and that pensioners are protected.

"When even Conservative MPs are describing this fiasco as the ‘Unacceptable face of capitalism’, it is clear that there is something very wrong. The Government must learn the lessons from this fiasco.”
