The Government needs to urgently intervene to help almost 800 vulnerable children living alone in the Calais camps - Osamor

Responding to the report from the Refugee Youth Service on conditions for unaccompanied child asylum seekers in Calais, Kate Osamor, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for International Development said:

“The Government needs to urgently intervene to help almost 800 vulnerable children living alone in the Calais camps. It is unacceptable that in the 21st Century children who have fled wars are living in such conditions.

“The Government needs to respond to the plight of the most vulnerable victims of the refugee crisis and act now.  They can start by helping to move children with family links to the UK from the cesspit of the Calais camps.”
