Gordon Marsden MP, Shadow Education Minister, commenting on the National Audit Office Reports on the apprenticeships, said:

“In the wake of the country’s decision to Brexit it is absolutely vital for Britain’s prosperity that the Tory Government get a grip on apprenticeships and plug the skills gulf that has emerged over the last five years. But this damning report from the NAO confirms what we and the sector have suspected for a while: the Tories are failing to prepare Britain for the future.”

NAO’s damning report released today on the Governments record on apprenticeships:

“Without this strategic underpinning, there is a clear risk that the drive to deliver greater numbers is delivered at the expense of delivering maximum value.”
