Jonathan Ashworth MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister without Portfolio, commenting on the Prime Minister’s comments about anti-corruption during the G20 Statement in Parliament, said:
“It is welcome to hear Theresa May say that the G20 summit was ‘very clear’ we need to press on with the commitments made at the Anti-Corruption Summit in London earlier this year.
“Unfortunately, despite much questioning by Labour over the summer, the Prime Minister’s own Government has been much less clear that they intend to press on with all the commitments made by Britain during the summit.
“Rather than warm words, we need May to be absolutely clear that her Government will be fulfilling each and every one of the commitments made at the summit – nothing else will do.”
