Yet again, it seems like another multinational company thinks it can play by different rules to the rest of us - McDonnell
John McDonnell MP, Labour’s Shadow Chancellor, commenting on reports that Ebay paid just £1.1m in tax in the UK last year, said:
“Yet again, it seems like another multinational company thinks it can play by different rules to the rest of us. Taxpayers will be sick of stories like this where it appears they are paying much higher tax rates than multinational corporations.
"The Tories have dragged their feet for years and voted against tough action to make it harder for firms to avoid UK tax. It’s time they followed Labour’s lead and started taking corporate tax avoidance seriously.
"Labour’s Tax Transparency and Enforcement Programme would stop the dodgy deals and put an end to tax avoidance.”
