Can't build a 21st Century education system with 1950s education policies - Rayner

Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, commenting on the Justine Greening’s remarks on Peston on Sunday, Shadow Education, said:

“You cannot build a 21st Century education system with 1950s education policies.

“The Tory argument that reintroducing selection at eleven provides more choice for parents are a nonsense. You do not choose a grammar school, the school chooses you.

“We cannot plan for a modern economy with only providing a high quality academic education for a small minority of children. We should be delivering the best possible outcomes for all children. To not do so risks our country’s future prosperity.”
