Clive Lewis MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, responding to reports that Fujitsu is to cut more than a tenth of its UK workforce, said:

“News that a profitable company is offshoring UK jobs is another example of Tory failure on the economy.

“The Prime Minister claims that the Tories are ‘the party of the workers,’ but it is thanks to Conservative Governments that British workers are easier to sack than in other countries.

“The Government offers warm words, but we need decisive action to protect jobs and strengthen our domestic industry.”
