The truth is that the Tories are failing on NHS funding - Jonathan Ashworth
Jonathan Ashworth MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Health, responding to Theresa May’s comments on NHS funding at PMQs, said:
“It
is truly remarkable that the Prime Minister can stand in front on the House of
Commons and say that the Tory government has given the NHS what it asked for
when it was made crystal clear by Simon Stevens just yesterday that the NHS is
not getting the funds it asked for over the next three years. In fact in
2018-19 the NHS will experience real terms negative growth in funding for the
first time ever.
“Rather than pretending the funding crisis in the NHS isn’t happening and saying that there’s no more money, the PM needs to face up to the reality and do something about it.”
