Jack Dromey MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Labour, responding to the Government’s announcement of a review into electronic balloting, said:

“The Government demands higher turnout in industrial action ballots, yet has dragged its heels on e-balloting that would make it much easier for Union members to vote. This announcement comes only as a result of a Government defeat in the Lords. 

"Union members want it. Unions have asked for it. The time has come for the Government to implement modern methods of boosting democratic participation in the digital age.”
