Labour is committed to delivering a world-class education system for all children, not just the privileged few – Rayner

Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Education, responding to new research by the National Union of Teachers and Association of Teachers and Lecturers, said:

“This is yet more evidence of the Tory’s empty promises on helping the children most in need. As they obsess over bringing back the bad old days of grammars, schools are sinking under the Tory failure to properly fund them.

“The Tories have nothing to say on Sure Start, on effective early-years support, on smaller class sizes, or high-quality teaching and most importantly how to properly fund a modern education system.

“Labour is committed to delivering a world-class education system for all children, not just the privileged few.”
