Rebecca Long-Bailey MP, Labour’s Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, commenting on the OECD’s revision to UK GDP of 1 percentage point by 2018, said:
“The OECD’s revision to UK GDP and their view that the Government could “do more” on fiscal policy to help stimulate growth, only further highlights the lack of action we saw from Philip Hammond last week.
“Labour welcomes the calls by another leading global economic organisation that we need increased investment from the Chancellor. It’s time we saw serious action from this government to address stagnant productivity, in order to produce a high-wage economy where no one and no community is left behind.”
