Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to the Academies Annual Report 2015-14 published by the Department for Education, said:

“The Tories continue to obsess over converting schools into academies ignoring the real problems facing our schools. 

“They have ignored the serious problems caused by their cuts to school budgets and have no plan to deal with super-sized classes, chronic teacher shortages and the lack of good school places.

“Labour wants an education system that delivers for every child, but the Tories are only interested in helping a select few.”
