Jonathan Ashworth MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary, commenting on the CQC review into patients’ deaths, said:
“This government commissioned review makes clear that lessons are not being learnt from patient deaths.
“It is incredibly disappointing that only 25 per cent of NHS trusts could demonstrate that they had considered families’ perspectives.
“Families need assurance that the Government will take action as a result of the report they commissioned and the CQC has clearly outlined how this can be achieved. A national framework must be put in place as soon as possible and Labour stands ready to work with CQC and the Government.”
