“This is an important report which should be taken seriously by ministers. The reality is alcohol, smoking and rising obesity is costing the NHS billions. 

“That’s why Labour is calling for a total focus on improving the public health of the nation. Sadly Ministers have delivered cut after cut to public health budgets. What’s more one of Theresa May’s first acts as Prime Minister was to completely water down sensible proposals in the obesity strategy.
