Richard Burgon, Labour’s Shadow Justice Minister, commenting on reports on Theresa May’s plan to pull out of the European Convention of Human Rights, said:
‘The European Convention on Human Rights was drafted by British lawyers and influenced by British history and law. It has protected the rights of millions of people in Britain for decades. And the Human Rights Act brought rights home for the people of Britain. The Tories need to end this posturing and concentrate on delivering a sensible Brexit deal.”
