Barbara Keeley MP, Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Minister for Social Care, commenting on care staff coming in from Spain to cover the care crisis, said:
“Looking after the care needs of older and vulnerable people is one of the most important jobs in a caring society. It is shocking to hear that the social care crisis means that people with no experience or qualifications are coming here to take on care work just for the money they can earn.
"It is time that Jeremy Hunt faced up to the crisis in social care his government has created and made plans for a properly funded and trained care workforce."
