Victims of dangerous dogs deserve better and stronger powers than Government have proposed - Reed

Steve Reed MP, Labour’s Shadow Home Office Minister, ahead of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime & Policing Bill returning to the House of Commons on Monday, said:

“The victims of dangerous dogs deserve better and stronger powers than the Government have proposed.

"On Monday I’ll be meeting with the parents of Jade Anderson, who was tragically mauled to death by dogs at the young age of 14. Her parents are campaigning for the new powers to deal with dogs that the Government has refused to bring in.

"Labour will be pushing amendments to the Anti-Social Behaviour Bill requiring tough new powers to finally deal with dangerous dogs and irresponsible owners by introducing dog control notices. It’s time for the Government to step up to the mark and get behind Labour’s proposals.”
