Mary Creagh MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, said ahead of tonight’s vote in Parliament on flight safety:

“Labour rejects this Government’s out-of-touch plans to use the EU to water down UK pilot safety standards.  These proposals will increase the times that pilots can be in the air and ministers seem uninterested in keeping the UK’s higher standards which are seen as the global benchmark.  Parliament should reject these plans and focus on protecting safety for pilots and passengers.”
